bazzoh Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 Hello!i own/run an antique (N reg) mk1 galaxy, 2.0 petrol. Today, as soon as I pulled the keys out of the ignition, the n/s window started lowering itself - it wasnt smooth but juddered all the way down - followed shortly by the drivers window! I though "freak" until i got home. This time the same thing happens, when I unlock the car. couple of points:- its nearly always n/s window followed by o/s window- the window judders its way down- they will go back up under central locking (hold the key all the way over)- they go down on removal of key/unlocking- no water in floor plans- i tried disconnecting the o/s switch as it was doing it to see if it was that somehow sticking anyone have any ideas? or in the meantime anyone have the fuse number so i can stop them unexpectedly dropping?thanks!baz Quote
bazzoh Posted June 2, 2008 Author Report Posted June 2, 2008 hiive just had a look there, there doesnt appear to be any problems (not easy to spot though!), i had to disconnect the battery because the window regulator (??) was clicking away and gettting very hot!. Anyway, I put everything back together and it appears to be fine (for now at least)ill keep an eye on it but if theres anyone else whos had the same problem id love hear from you incase it does start again!ta!baz Quote

bazzoh Posted June 2, 2008 Author Report Posted June 2, 2008 yup its started again! i had a look at the wiring, there was no obvious signs of cracked sleeves nor no obvious cracking. Just as a n extra, is one side in charge of the other if you know what i mean! the only reason i ask is that it seems to always be the n/s window going down first, but i would have thought the o/s controls both? baz Quote
bazzoh Posted June 4, 2008 Author Report Posted June 4, 2008 hello!just spoke to auto spark and an ex ford mechanic - they both said the same thing - micro switch inside the central locking unit (o/s door). hope this helps anyone who gets the same problems!Baz Quote

The_Chief Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I had the pleasure of being in the new model Galaxy on Saturday night and I think the best thing you can do is get yourself one of those. The window had the smoothest action of any car I've ever seen and it was a pleasure just to watch it. In my opinion it makes the RRP of Quote
James Ford Galaxy Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 The Chief, I also joined you on your journey through the ket junction in London in that Galaxy and my must concur with everything you have said. I have also just purchased a new Galaxy and i must say, i am most impressed with the smoothness of these windows. Not only that, but im not sure if youve noticed the trays with built in cup holders on the back seats. This is mostly convenient when it comes to the following: Having PicnicsPlaying SolitaireHolding your medicineRacking up Cupholders for me arent a deal breaker but it did seal the deal for me. I look forward to talking about this more in the near future. Regards, 4d Quote

The_Chief Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) That's sealed it for me and I'm not sure about anyone else but I know what I'm doing this weekend. It involves me, the said Ford Galaxy and a lot of fun Edited April 11, 2011 by The_Chief Quote
James Ford Galaxy Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Giannone and the "team" I have made a video of the windows on my new Smart phone. Its the new HTC Desire HD so the quality is very much up to standard. Do you know what else is up to standard. These new Windows. Smoother than the surface of a wooden floor when you used to play skidding as a teenager. Real Smooth. Unfortunately my battery was flat on the ford from playing with windows too much so i just took a picture. Sorry for the dullness, it was raining. http://img.ehow.com/article-page-main/ehow-uk/images/a07/po/dq/remove-primer-car-windows-800x800.jpg Quote
